Construction
On October 19 and 20, students joined the Techo Nuevo León organization to build houses for a community. The executive team has organized a raffle so volunteers can collect money for their cuadrilla. Each ticket is worth 200 pesos, and more than 1,000 tickets have been sold.
Zambrano Hellion Visit - October 6
The club along with Cardiochavitos decided to have some volunteers join them at Zambrano Hellion hospital and spend time with the kids that are about to get surgery. Cardiochavitos is an organization that helps people with heart conditions obtain an opportunity to fix them.
Boteada - October 12
The club organized a boteada where students volunteered to spend three and a half hours on the street to collect money donated by the passing drivers for the kids. In total, they made 60,485 pesos which covers the cost of approximately 5 surgeries.
ASOMEX Oct 18-20
The club sent two teams of three people each to Ciudad de México to compete nationally. “The event begins with four round-robin-like rounds. Then the teams with the most points advance to quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals”, said Debate Club leader, Juan Carlos Segovia. They competed against 32 teams and one of the two teams from ASFM finished up in 5th place.
Sister school visit - October 19:
NHS members and volunteers will head down to their sister school to host various activities for the students and paint classrooms.
Sold tickets:
Race tickets in support of the Mexican Association of Diabetes were sold by NHS members this October.
Donated supplies:
Recently, supplies were donated by NHS members for the drive the VIFAC organization was hosting in support of mothers in Mexico.
Color Run
On October 13, the club had its annual Color Run. Each ticket had a cost of $150 pesos. The money went to both the NJHS club and the middle school’s Multicultural Club.
Business and Investment
The club is currently participating in the national stock market competition called Reto Actinver that began on September 30. They learn about the main trends and patterns that are essential for handling money and understanding the stock market.

Movie Society
The Movie Society had its first Friday afterschool event. Their goal is to repeat these events every two Fridays and watch different movies. The films are chosen via Instagram polls.
Advocatus
On Friday, September 27, ASFM students, Patricio de la Garza and Eduardo Guzman were invited to participate in a local congress in Monterrey by two federal deputies. The people in the event included students from several high schools and colleges where they would propose ideas to help the environment. This was the first congress held in all of Mexico that allowed students to participate and give their solutions.
Girls Elite Soccer Team
On October 20, the girls’ Elite Senior team won the Copa RC. They played a total of 7 matches and won first place. Seniors, Gabriel Villanueva, Cristobal Treviño, and Mario de Armas also competed along with the TEC team and reached semi-finals.
