Meet the Year 6 Team!
Paulina Arce
Paulina Arce is the Chief Editor of EL 107. She is currently a senior, entering her second year in the classroom. Before becoming Chief, she wrote for the Hard News section. Pau enjoys watching football, cooking, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family. She is involved in MUN, NHS and is part of the school’s volleyball team.
Sofi Guenther
Sofi Guenther is the Head of Marketing and a part of the Design team. She is currently a senior at ASFM, and this is her second year working in El 107. Sofi’s favorite hobby is to play on the school's soccer team, watch movies, listen to music, among others… This year she is the President of the Med Club, a part of NHS and multiple clubs.
Baby Alonso
Baby is a part of the Soft News and Eagle Eye departments. She is currently a senior at ASFM and this is her first year in el 107. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and spending time with her friends and family. She is also involved in MUN, NHS, and organizations such as Soñar Despierto and RC Talks.
Moni Assad
Moni Assad is Head Editor for Soft News and part of the Eagle Eye department. She is currently a senior in high school, and it is her third year in El 107. Moni loves to do yoga, dance, bake, travel, and spend quality time with her dog and her loved ones. She aspires to work in the fashion business in the near future.
Dany Benitez
Dany Benitez is a junior at ASFM, and it is her first year in el 107. She is part of the Opinion department and collaborating with Canal. Dany is passionate about writing, music, singing, and the arts. Apart from El 107, she also forms part of StuCo and the table of Soñar Despierto.
Vale Colyer
Vale Colyer is currently a junior in high school. This is her first year at El 107, and she is part of the Design department. Vale loves to ice skate, play golf, watch movies, spend time with friends and family and, also loves to travel.
Cami Elizondo
Camila Elizondo is this year’s Head Cartoonist as well as a writer for the Soft News department. She is a senior continuing her third year in El 107. Camila enjoys drawing, playing guitar, and maybe a bit of gossiping. She is part of the Wall Painting Club and president of the ASFM Task Force on the Prevention of Assault, and dreams of studying Illustration in New York and challenge social norms through her art.
Eva Elizondo
Eva Elizondo is the head of the Hard News department. She is a senior and this is her second year in El 107. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies, listening to music, and learning new things. This year, she is the president of the Green Team.
Gilberto Garza
Gilberto Garza is part of the Hard News department. He is a senior, and it's his first year in El 107. He enjoys listening to music, reading books, watching car races, cooking, running, drawing, and among other things. Gilberto hopes to pursue an engineering degree in the future and is looking forward to going to college. Aside from El 107, Gilberto is also involved with MUN.
Laura Guerra
Laura Guerra is the head editor of the Investigative department. She currently is a junior in ASFM, and this is her second year in El 107. Laura enjoys reading, writing, listening to music and exercising. She is currently involved in MUN, NHS, Techo, and she also participates in CSL.
Sandy Jacques
Sandy is currently a senior and is part of the Design department. This is her second year in El 107 and is excited to see the content created this year. She enjoys exercise, being with her friends, family, and parties.
Vero Lopez
Vero Lopez is the head of the Opinion department and this is her second year in El 107. She is passionate about singing and theater, the career she wants to pursue. Vero loves to connect with people through different art forms, including writing.
Mony Probert
Mony Probert is part of the Investigative and Eagle Eye departments. She is currently in Grade 11 and this is her first year in El 107. She likes to read, do Pilates, dance, play the piano, watch movies, listen to music, and spend time with friends and family. Apart from El 107, Mony is involved in MUN, NHS, and other clubs.
Ale Real
Ale Real is currently in her senior year in the American school. This is her second year in the El 107 magazine inside the Design department and is excited for what is to come. Ale loves to spend time with her friends and family since it brings her great joy, but she also enjoys sometimes being by herself and doing some of the things that she loves.
Cata Santos
Cata Santos is the Head Editor of the Eagle Eye department and a writer for the Soft News section. She is currently in her junior year in high school. This is her second year on El 107 team. In her free time, Cata loves playing tennis, listening to good music, traveling, and is mostly spending time with her friends and family.
Espe García-Cirilo
Espe García-Cirilo is a writer for the Hard News department. She is currently a senior in ASFM and this is her first year in El 107. Espe enjoys watching movies and (short) series, listening to music, traveling, writing, cooking, and spending time with loved ones among other things, She is also involved in MUN, Tedi, Mock Trial, and the school’s soccer team.
Paloma Lobeira
Paloma has been part of El 107 since she was in 11th grade, currently she is in her senior year. Last year she was part of Eagle Eye and Soft News, but this year she decided to only stay with Soft News and collaborate with El Canal. Paloma loves spending time with her friends and family and for hobbies she enjoys playing soccer going to the gym, Pilates, playing padel and walking.
Vale Mota
Vale Mota is the Chief Director of El 107. She is currently a senior in her third year as part of El 107. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music, and playing the drums. Vale is also involved in the Operation Smile Club and the Wall Painting Club.
Majo Alanis
Majo Alanis is a writer for the Investigative department. She is currently a senior at ASFM and this is her first year in El 107. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking and baking. Majo is also the Secretary General in MUN and is involved in Student Council, Techo, and NHS.
Caty Arnaud
Caty Arnaud is the head of the Design department. She is a senior, and it is her second year in El 107. She enjoys reading books, listening to music, playing soccer, playing tennis, and drawing. She hopes to pursue Interior Design in the future and is excited about the upcoming journey in college. Apart from El 107, Caty is involved in MUN and the Wall Painting Club.
Fer Assad
Fer Assad is in her first year of El 107 and part of the Investigative department. She is currently a sophomore in high school. Fer enjoys dancing, reading, traveling, trying new things, listening to music, and spending time with friends. Besides El 107, she is also involved in MUN.
Chalo Campos
Probably the only one with a beard in High School, Chalo Campos is currently a junior, and it is his first year in El 107 helping out in Hard News section. Apart from playing Basket, Soccer, and other sports in-and-out of school, Chalo is an Executive in Techo whilst being an avid enjoyer of music, video games, and going to the gym all in his free time.
Raquel Cruz
Raquel is currently a junior in high school and is a Cartoonist for El 107. She hopes in pursuing a career in Design or Architecture when she graduates high school. She enjoys drawing, painting, exercising, and so on.
Isa Elizondo
Isa Elizondo is a senior in high school and is the head of El Canal in the 107. Isa loves reading, running, editing videos, teaching, and traveling. She is also part of MUN and organizations such as Tedi Juvenil and Unidos. Her future plans are to study psychopedagogy to become a special education teacher.
Pau Flores
Pau Flores is part of the Investigative and the Eagle Eye departments. She is currently a junior in high school and a new member of El 107. In her free time Pau watches movies, listens to music, bakes, does yoga, reads, and spends quality time with her family, friends, and her cat. She hopes to pursue a career in Journalism one day.
David Lobo
A professional amphibian and nature lover, David Lobo is a Sophomore attending ASFM. He mainly is a part of the Hard News department in El 107; although, David also collaborates with the Opinion and Canal departments. Additionally, He is a member of HURAC in the MUN Secretariat class. Outside of school, David is fascinated with going on road trips to the gym, reading, writing, and swimming. Fun fact, David learned to swim before he could run. Thus, he is the Mexican Aquaman.
Balby Hernández
Balby Hernández is part of the Design team. She is a senior and this is her first time in El 107. Balby enjoys learning, reading and writing—especially psychological related things. She also adores spending time with her cats and friends. Balby wishes to pursue a career in clinical psychology. Apart from El 107, she is president of the Mental Health Club this year.
Majo León
Majo Leon is going into her first year at El 107 joining the Design team. She is starting her junior year at high school, hoping someday to pursue a career in the business and/or design fields. In her free time, Majo enjoys spending time with her friends, traveling, reading, and bake. Additionally, she forms part of the MUN community and an active participant in the Techo constructions.
Mateo Pérez
Mateo is a videographer and editor for El Canal. He is currently a senior at ASFM and this is his first year in El 107. He has always enjoyed traveling, playing soccer, taking photos, and spending time with friends and family. Mateo takes photos for events like Techo and Miles for Smiles, while also helping create designs for a non-profit organization in Chiapas called Tseinan.
Marcelo Ramirez
Marcelo is currently a junior in high school, and it is his first year in El 107 in the Opinion department. Besides El 107, he is involved in NHS and Techo. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, mountain biking, music, film, and spending time with friends.
Diego Rodriguez
Diego is a writer for the Opinion department and El Canal. He is currently a junior at ASFM and this is his first year in El 107. In his free time, he enjoys film, philosophy, literature, writing, and music.
Mara Santos
Mara Santos is a part of the Opinion and Eagle Eye departments within El 107. She is a sophomore at ASFM, therefore this is her first year in the team. In her free time she enjoys reading books, playing the guitar, spending time with her cat, listening to music, and watching movies, hoping she’ll write many screenplays in the future. Apart from El 107 she is also involved in MUN.
Eugenio Garza
Eugenio is a senior writing for Opinion and occasionally collaborating with Canal. After several years of scheduling conflicts, he is finally entering his first year officially in the magazine. Other than El 107, Eugenio is heavily involved in the leadership of Miles for Smiles, MUN, StuCo and various other clubs but still spends his days at the McDonald’s drive-through with friends.
Santi Marcos
Santiago Marcos Navarro is a senior on his first year writing for the Soft department in El 107. He enjoys biking, playing tennis and basketball as well as cooking and is passionate about traveling and being outdoors. What he enjoys most, however, is having fun while spending time with family and friends.
