FOOD FIT FOR A ‘JANIKING’

There’s nothing like freshly cooked homemade food to welcome someone into your family, and the ASFM eagles did just that with the new maintenance staff.

On Saturday, April 21st, students from multiple groups gathered to have the second appreciation day of the year as they welcomed the workers from the newly hired cleaning company, Janiking.

NHS organized the event, but other student groups who also participated included the Ambassadors, CSL, MUN, Scouts, and TECHO. Teachers also took part in bringing food, as well as chatting with the workers.

While there was a wide variety of food available for the guests, the most successful food was Ms. Every’s ribs, which did not last long.

The change in cleaning companies happened due to the failure to make up for absent workers, and the school administration thought it best to find a better alternative.

According to superintendent Dr. Adams, workers from the previous company who showed effort and dedication were interviewed by the new company, and around 15 percent stayed at ASFM.
