‘Tradition and family, honor and truth’

To kick off the 90th anniversary of ASFM, almost 3 thousand students, teachers, and staff united on the Elementary campus on Friday August 31st to take the official photograph, sing the school anthem, and celebrate.

The first of many festivities began with a short walk in the morning to the soccer field #2. While some were anxious to finish the picture and get back to the air conditioning, others enjoyed the opportunity to have fun with friends and peers. After instructions to find a place inside the taped lines, three drones flew over the field to photograph and videotape the event.

Before, meanwhile, and after the image was taken, Dr. Adams greeted the crowd.  “90 years of celebrating, 90 years of learning,” he repeated. He then introduced Pato Rocha, an ASFM alumni that closed the event singing the school anthem. “15 years ago, Pato’s father wrote and composed a song called ‘A Moment in Time’,” Dr. Adams explained before the emotional performance. .

One of the highlights of the day happened when a flock of parakeet flew over the assembly and Dr. Adams joked that they had been sent by an eagle to join the jubilee.

According to MS principal Mr. Scott, this event is just the beginning of a whole year’s worth of activities. “We have a lot more to come,” he remarked.
