Aguilas Reales and Bald Eagles
It’s been five months since the last generation of Eagles have graduated and flown to new nests on both sides of the border. From the short hop to UDEM, to the long flight to Yale, we decided to check up on how our eagles are doing in their new homes.

1. I chose this school because I like the academic program and because it is in Mexico City
2. Everything has been great so far. It's very different from ASFM but different cool.
3. It's been a smooth transition because I knew what I was getting into.
4. I know I have chosen the right university because I like my new classes, my new campus, and the new people I'm with.
5. Teachers, my friends and the soccer team.
1. It was clear that la Libre had the most complete program for the career I wanted to pursue as this faculty only focuses on law.
2. La Facultad Libre de Derecho Monterrey makes every student feel like home. Since the first day of school, I've had a great connection with my peers and professors.
3. My transition has been easier than what I expected it to be. Coming from an almost all English speaking school I was scared I was going to fall behind in my classes, but in reality it hasn’t been challenging at all.
4. Totally, at least in Monterrey it is the only school that is 100% focused on law, I don’t have any “tronco común” courses. I don’t feel I’m wasting my time in any class I’m taking.
5. By far what I miss the most about ASFM is seeing my friends and the people I grew up with everyday.

1. I honestly didn’t put that much thought into where I was going because at the end of the day, in most cases, the diplomas are worth the same here and there.
2. My experience at TEC has not been the least bit close to how I imagined it would be. I do not wish to blame the institution for how I feel, only that the system they’ve implemented recently (Tec21).
3. I didn’t find it difficult at all. I felt ready to leave my home of 15 years in order to explore, meet new people, be in another campus and just get a taste of the real world.
4. All jokes aside about Tec21, I’m going to give it a chance. I’m not giving up on TEC because I truly believe that they can fix this mess and listen to what their students have to say.
5. The thing I miss most about ASFM was how comfortable I was there. I miss arriving to school at 8:00 am! At TEC all my classes start at 7:00 am.
1. I was convinced that I wanted to study Architecture at the Tec. Afterwards, I changed my mind after finding out about new Tec21 being implemented. I applied to the UDEM due to the positive comments of those who had studied architecture there.
2. I've had a great experience actually. I was nervous at first but I feel that I'm learning how to work my creative mind, as well as discipline and teamwork. I'm a bit disappointed with my math class. I feel that it's not as challenging (compared with Gerber).
3. Challenging at first since everything changes. Your surroundings, classrooms, teachers, classmates, schedule… However, you start getting the hang of it as time passes by. I feel that ASFM prepared me more than enough for university.
4. Yes. I started to consider transferring to another school abroad for the rest of my career path. But I doubt this as I enjoy the UDEM life.
5. At ASFM you get to see most of your friends throughout the day in different classes and lunchtime. You even start to consider some teachers as friends as well. I miss that community.

1. I chose Yale because I’ve always wanted to play college golf and Yale seemed to be the perfect fit where I can study and play at a high level.
2. Up to now, Yale has been incredible. I’ve met so many new and exciting people and I feel like I’m learning so much everyday.
3. ASFM does a great job at preparing their students for college in the United States. It’s all about time management skills, and I was fortunate enough to acquire those at ASFM.
4. Yes, absolutely. I love the vibe here at Yale, this is the best place for me for sure.
5. I miss seeing my friends everyday during school. I also miss the teachers, professors are great, but there’s nothing like the teachers at ASFM.
1. I decided to go to Claremont Mckenna for many reasons: the liberal arts curriculum, close relationships between students and professors, and the research opportunities.
2. It has been absolutely amazing. I've studied much more in the past few months than any time before, but I have found my classes so interesting that it doesn't feel like a lot of work.
3. It has been pretty smooth. Since CMC is such a small school, some things are pretty similar to ASFM like the teacher-student relationships and knowing all of your grade.
4. liberal arts curriculum makes me take a lot of classes that I wouldn't otherwise, like philosophy, government, and even ballroom dancing.
5.Childhood friends.

1. It’s one of the top engineering schools and it has a lot to offer. There are numerous opportunities in education and research and I really liked it.
2. It’s definitely academically challenging but it’s achievable if you are able to organize your time and are interested in the classes. I also like the independence of living in a new country and being on your own.
3. It’s not such a close-knit community where everyone knows each other. I have classes of more than 200 people and there isn’t so much teacher-student interaction. But there are countless free tutoring or office hour options. This has made my transition to GT a lot easier to handle.
4. I do. I’ve actually changed my major because I’ve found out that Mechanical Engineering is better for the field of work that I want to do. I know that I’ve chosen the correct university because I feel comfortable and interested in my studies.
5. I miss the close-knit community and the comfort that I developed there as well as my friends, my teachers, and all of the activities that I was a part of.
1. I chose this school because I felt that it was one that best exemplified well-rounded education that not only focused on educating me but also help me grow as a person.
2. I honestly didn’t expect it to be so hard, however, I’ve been enjoying every second of my time here and I have been very lucky to have made a lot of friends who I have grown close to.
3. Surprisingly the language. Having to speak English here almost always has shown me how much I did not speak it back home. But the actual transition has been very easy because of the attention and care that the university and my peers have given me.
4. Definitely. I feel this institution will open many doors thanks to its great alumni network.
5. Seeing my Gene, the teachers, and Monterrey in general.
