Silicon Nightmare
Over the week November 16th to the 21st, 10-12th grade ASFM students took a trip to Silicon Valley, California. The purpose was to have an educational experience so that students could get a first-hand experience of the unique technological and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
They visited large tech companies, got guided tours of some of the best universities, and got to beta-test products before they hit the market. They also learned about innovation from expert engineers.
Their stay consisted chiefly of being in San Francisco. When they were near the seaside around Fisherman’s Wharf on Tuesday, November 19, they came back to the rented van to find that one of the windows had been shattered and some of the stuff that was inside the van had been stolen. Items taken included a Supreme backpack with an iPad in it and a pair of expensive headphones. The person who took the items remains unknown, however, it is thought to be a passerby that shattered the windows while the van was parked. Diego Bichara, one of the 10th graders on the trip said; “we were at the pier when it happened. We just came back to the van and found that one of the windows had been broken and some items inside were taken. Thankfully no passports or important documents were stolen”
